Grapes of Wrath Chapter 25 Analysis
The cool, drenched earth, which was a wellspring of life in the no so distant past, kidnaps a little youngster while the mother can just watch miserably as the spouse scoops hills of soil. This occasion isn't excessively unique in relation to most that residents living during the Dust Bowl needed to manage. The reckless nature made the American individuals continue growing and molding the land as they saw fit.Because of this they exhausted the land which, joined with dry spell, caused the Dust Bowl. The huge companies before long purchased out a large portion of the land in the Mid-West and numerous families were before long compelled to make their living by different methods. The move of these families out west to a predetermined number of employments harmed the United States' economy. In Chapter 25 of the Grapes of Wrath, John Steinbeck sums up the human instinct of implosion making the partnerships exhibit their avarice and how it influenced the workers of California.Steinbeck sta rts the segment by portraying California in (section 1 and 2) so as to show how delightful the nation was the point at which it was immaculate by companies. Steinbeck sets up numerous representations and pictures that he summarizes towards the finish of the part. He portrays a wonderful California in which ââ¬Å"fruit blooms are fragrant pinkâ⬠and blossom petals ââ¬Å"carpet the earth with pink and white. ââ¬Å"; utilizing spring hues, for example, pink, white, and green to how California was wonderful and peaceful. The delightful, lavish scene that Steinbeck portrays likewise attracts equals to the Garden of Eden when depicted as ample with natural product; to such an extent that ââ¬Å"little props must be put under them(the branches) to help the weightâ⬠similarly as the Garden of Eden was depicted as being copious with organic product; indicating the change of a spot that is for the most part viewed as the most excellent spot while additionally improving the level o f magnificence that California has. Steinbeck depicts the California slopes as ââ¬Å"soft as breastsâ⬠and how it ââ¬Å"quickens with produceâ⬠; subtleties that demonstrate how Steinbeck sets the state up to be a sustaining, pregnant mother. In (section 3), Steinbeck begins to portray the sort of men who take a shot at the supporting mother that is California. Steinbeck utilizes polysyndeton while portraying these men show every single great quality they have, for example, ââ¬Å"understanding and information and skill'â⬠demonstrating how profoundly Steinbeck respects these men; contending that the men are of the most elevated request of individuals He at that point utilizes asyndeton to show the innumerable measure of maladies that the men's procedures can defeat, for example, ââ¬Å"the molds, the creepy crawlies, the rusts, the blightsâ⬠again indicating how significant Steinbeck thinks these men are.Steinbeck keeps on building these men up by depicting them as ââ¬Å"men of knowledgeâ⬠; again referencing California as the Garden of Eden by contrasting the men with the Tree of Knowledge which fills in as anticipating as the Tree of Knowledge bore the taboo organic product that caused the fall of man. Steinbeck proceeds with his mom illustration by portraying the men as offspring of the nursing California. In (section 4 and 5) Steinbeck's tone and expression change as he portrays the men as the years pass by to show how the men are crushing the land they once cautiously cultivated. He shows the move of the men to damaging methods by utilizing words like ââ¬Å"destroyingâ⬠and ââ¬Å"tearingâ⬠rather than ââ¬Å"delicateâ⬠and ââ¬Å"carefullyâ⬠to assist his thought that the men are evolving. The organic product is not, at this point bolstered by the supports yet ââ¬Å"sags down against the crutchesâ⬠demonstrating how the men are presently really obliterating the place that is known for their sustaining m other. Steinbeck starts his ââ¬Å"grapes of wrathâ⬠analogy by portraying the grapes as ââ¬Å"growing heavyâ⬠; connoting the fierceness that the average folks feel towards the ââ¬Å"menâ⬠who, truly, are the huge harvest proprietors and the bank owners. The men are additionally ââ¬Å"proudâ⬠of their capacity to make the yields substantial with produce and ââ¬Å"transform the world with their knowledgeâ⬠; attracting equals to the huge investors and harvest proprietors who abused the destitute individuals so as to shape the world the their comparing. Steinbeck completes the area with another use of asyndeton to depict everything that these men can do to ââ¬Å"drive the earth to produceâ⬠or in current terms: control the abundance of the country. In (parts 6-13), the scene of California changes for the most exceedingly terrible as Steinbeck attempts to portray the harm that the men have delivered on California. Steinbeck's lingual authority with words , for example, ââ¬Å"rotâ⬠, ââ¬Å"wasteâ⬠, and ââ¬Å"decayâ⬠partner the previous Edenic Califronia with a creepy picture. This phrasing relates with the move in symbolism that shows ââ¬Å"meat turning dim and crop withering on the groundâ⬠alongside ââ¬Å"black shreds(of cherries) swinging from them(the seeds)â⬠; further portraying the difference in scene of California.Instead of ââ¬Å"valleys in which organic product blossomsâ⬠, the valley ousts a ââ¬Å"odor of sweet decayâ⬠indicating the terrible express that California has gone in to under the direction of the ââ¬Å"understandingâ⬠men. Steinbeck likewise utilizes solid symbolism to portray abundant pears falling ââ¬Å"heavily to the ground and sprinkling on the groundâ⬠; an image Steinbeck additionally changes the primary topic of hues from the wonderful pink and green of the previous California to a creepy dark. Steinbeck additionally utilizes the vernacular of Californian s to show the frenzy that the ranchers feel by communicating such expressions as ââ¬Å"We can't do it. furthermore, ââ¬Å"We can't pay compensation, regardless of what compensation. â⬠placing the peruser in to the psyche of the ranchers to encounter that frenzy and franticness they felt. Steinbeck's solid symbolism is utilized again to portray copious pears falling ââ¬Å"heavily to the ground and sprinkling on the groundâ⬠; an image for the bombing framework the ranchers have that is making their lives fall, sprinkle, and detonate on the ground. Section 9 proceeds to introduce a case of ââ¬Å"rotten, wasp-stungâ⬠grapes that connects to the ââ¬Å"swellingâ⬠grapes of passage 1.The expanding grapes would be utilized to make fine wine that has an undertone of being delightful and delectable while the spoiled grapes would make a terrible wine which is for the most part viewed as nauseating and appalling; just an invention of buildup, formic corrosive, tannic c orrosive, and sulfur. These two wines speak to the nation from which they are made, the acceptable wine being the wonderful California and the nauseating wine being the ghastly nation that the men made. (Sections 18-23) show Steinbeck's finished sentiment that the companies or ââ¬Å"menâ⬠and how they crushed California and the lives of the oor. Steinbeck shows the distress of the circumstance by portraying the ââ¬Å"carloads of oranges dumpedâ⬠and afterward being copied alongside the pigs being butchered then letting the ââ¬Å"putrescence trickle down into the earth. â⬠He at that point decides to uncover his proposition toward the start of this segment to imply his plan of uncovering the shameful acts of the men. Steinbeck advances from calling the ranchers to ââ¬Å"the peopleâ⬠; connoting that the inadequately rewarded ranchers are intended to be the American populace of the 1930s.This is intended to show the bad form that the destitute individuals needed to experience and the eagerness that the enterprises exemplified. The natural product that individuals want is singed for no other explanation than that it benefits the huge harvest proprietors; demonstrating more treacheries that the ââ¬Å"peopleâ⬠persevere. The oranges are ââ¬Å"golden mountainsâ⬠when they are being scorched; a suggestion to the way the men, or organizations, consumed the delicate green slopes of the previous California on account of greed. In section 22, Steinbeck utilizes anaphora to show the progression of unpleasant occasions that the individuals suffer coming full circle to a ââ¬Å"failure that topples all achievement. â⬠Steinbeck's use of twisted symbolism, for example, the kids biting the dust of pellagra is intended to blame the men for executing these youngsters with their violations. At the finish of the part, the displeasure is working in the individuals as the watchmen can see the ââ¬Å"growing wrathâ⬠according to the hungry . â⬠The pregnant mother is again utilized, just this time she is ââ¬Å"heavy withâ⬠or birthing the wrath of the people. This is a source of inspiration by Steinbeck intended to prod the ruined individuals of California to revolt as Jim Casy and Tom did. Section 25 of The Grapes of Wrath fills in as Steinbeck's study of American culture during the 1930s. He dissects the occasions of the Dust Bowl and how American individuals and company goes to it. Steinbeck that the workers of America expected to ascend against the large organization so as to better their lives. Steinbeck sums up by considering the American individuals to follow up on the treacheries that they suffer and better their nation.

How Successful Have Revolutions proved as Ways of Changing t essays
How Successful Have Revolutions demonstrated as Ways of Changing t articles Upsets as an impetus for change are continually going to be world evolving occasions. By their inclination an unrest relates to either the topple of a current political framework or an emotional change in thoughts or practice. However one must think about the more extensive world in setting. While in all cases the upset will change the prompt region, which might be considered by the neighborhood people their reality, in a more extensive setting the genuine effect of the upheavals might not have such an effect, or as a rule that will be set out in this paper the insurgencies will be set as a piece of a bigger situation. Unrests are never separated occurrences, however a response to occasions saw by a segment of the people, which they view to be unfair or wrong. The level of accomplishment in changing the world is exceedingly hard to confirm. In certain frameworks, for example, Marxist Communism, the products of transformation may yet blossom from the disappointments of the majority rule government we are presently living in. Along these lines the effect of the 1917 Russian Revolution may even now be viewed as carrying on right up 'til today inside China, Cuba and North Korea, and these countries, particularly in the Far East may yet change the world for the sake of the Communist beliefs they follow. Indeed, even now the effect of the French upheaval can be seen inside the law based thoughts the nation appears, and through her activities inside the European Union, maintaining the established goals held by the first progressives from in 1789. We Are Never Interviewing in Real Life An Interview with Samantha Irby
We Are Never Interviewing in Real Life An Interview with Samantha Irby There are a number of reasons I love Samantha Irby. She makes me feel better about the fact that I hate almost everything (most especially leaving the house), she talks frankly about the realities of living with a bowel disorder, and she recently got BORN DEAD tattooed on her knuckles. She is my hero. So I jumped at the chance to ask her some questions about her best-selling new book, We Are Never Meeting in Real Life. KM: Youâre kind of blowing up right now. Youre a New York Times best-selling author, were voted Most Inappropriate by New York Magazineall the things a young writer dreams of. Youâre also an outspoken homebody. Do you get invited to a bunch of fancy parties now? Does that make it harder to live the hermit life? SI: You know what, Ive been invited to a handful of interesting things, but Im not special enough yet to be offered free transportation so I dont go to a goddamn thing. I hate going places because the outside world is unpredictable, so I try not to go anywhere. The cat voted me Most Important Person in This Living Room and thats enough for me. KM: You can have five people (dead or alive) at a dinner party. Who do you invite? SI: Beyonce, Forest Whitaker, Drake, Vivica A Fox, Craig from the Craig and Zoe episode of Catfish. KM: I appreciate how willing you are to talk explicitly about poop and what itâs like having a colon disorder. As someone who has a similar affliction, I think itâs so important that people stop being afraid to talk about bodily functions. Because all it does is make people with janky digestive systems feel bad about pooping. Do you feel like itâs important to be open about poop and butts? Or is it just a part of your life and Iâm projecting my lofty ideas about poop on you? SI: ITS SUPER IMPORTANT TO ME. Everybody Poops yet its still so weirdly taboo to talk about, especially for women. It is my dream that one day well all be able to excuse ourselves from a conversation by saying Excuse me, I have to poop and then walk away unashamed. I have friends who have literally shit their pants before yet feel weird about leaving the table in the middle of dinner to go take a #2. And I get why, it stinks and it sounds gross, but I still hate it. I had to get comfortable talking about it because I was actually shitting ALL THE TIME and going to the hospital for various poop-related maladies, and there was no adorable, ladylike explanation for my many extended trips to the toilet. So I just started being open and honest about it to make life easier for myself. And in the process, its opened up the conversation for other people. Im not saying that my stupid book has revolutionized peoples relationships with their buttholes, but I do get emails all the time from wome n who are like THANK YOU FOR TALKING ABOUT DIARRHEA ALL THE TIME and thats really rewarding. If writing about colonoscopies helps put a smile on the face of someone dealing with IBD then its totally worth it. KM: Did your editor balk at anything poop-related? Or get squeamish about anything? SI: NOT AT ALL. But Im not an idiot, my pitch packet had the big diarrhea story of this collection in it. Also, I think she might have read the first book? Or was at least familiar with it? Im not a hundred percent sure what kind of vetting Vintage did before they bought this book but Im guessing they at least skimmed my blog, and even a cursory glance will reveal that I absolutely love talking about butts. Andrea, my editor, didnt blink an eye at any of it. The more disgusting, the better. KM: What are 5 books you think everyone should read? SI: The Mothers Brit Bennett, Hunger Roxane Gay, How to Slowly Kill Yourself and Others in America Kiese Laymon, Problems Jade Sharma, Shrill Lindy West. KM: What was the weirdest part of the editing process for We Are Never Meeting In Real Life? SI: My first book didnt have a copy editor. And that was fine because it was an indie press with a shoestring budget and the whole thing felt very cool and DIY when we were putting the book together. But this time around I had an editor and a copy editor and a marketing team and lawyers had to look over it, and that was the most excruciating process Ive ever been through. Not because they were wrong, but because Id never had anyone take a fine toothed comb to my work. Ive never had to explain who Omarion is or why I reference him so frequently in my work before, and Im the type of person whose knee-jerk reaction to a question or correction is Oh my god, am I stupid? Over and over again, Id read the notes the editors sent back and would fold in on myself in shame, especially since the minute you have to explain a dumb joke it leeches all the humor out of it? And I would find myself wondering if the things Id written were actually funny after having deconstructed them. Im generally a p retty self-conscious person, so even though it was kind of mortifying Im glad I had to do it because the idea of embarrassing myself in front of a national audience makes me want to die. KM: Iâm pretty fâing excited about the pilot of Meaty [based on Irbys first book]! What can you tell us about it? SI: This is gonna be such a disappointing answer. I dont understand Hollywood and it doesnt even feel like Im working on a real television script because Im doing it at my little desk thats shoved in a corner of the living room. Rural Michigan is the literal opposite of Southern California. Okay, so Jessi Klein and I wrote the first draft of a pilot, which was terrifying and awesome and I think turned out pretty hilarious, then we sent it to the nice people at FX for feedback. Which we got! And the feedback was positive! So now were working on a second draft, which well turn in for more feedback, then maybe theyll let us make a pilot. Im scared of looking like a fraud so I dont ask anyone too many questions for fear that theyll turn around like LOL YOU WRITE A BLOG THIS WHOLE THING IS CANCELLED. KM: True/False: Your next book is going to just be your investigative reporting about your friendsâ shower habits? SI: Its true that I am super interested in why so many people dont use washcloths, but if I had to do any actual investigation (collection of data, comparison of findings, etc.) Id be bored with it within a day. Theres a reason I only write about myself and whatever I happen to be watching on television: I am neither dedicated nor smart. Sometimes Ill be sitting in front of the TV with the iPad in one hand, my phone in the other, and a novel in my lap and wonder how on earth I even made it through high school. If I had to write so much as a book report right now, Id go into hiding. KM: I feel like when people write with a strong, funny, fairly informal voice, people assume that actual work doesnât go into the process. The way people think comedians just walk on stage and improvise a new, full set of jokes every night. Has that been your experience? SI: Kind of? Its mostly, like, Hey I have a diary too how can I get someone to pay me a million dollars for it? Which is a question I would also like answered. Its true that I didnt go to school to learn how to do this, and I dont need to people to sit back in awe like writing about farts is a preternatural gift handed to me from on high, but just a little acknowledgment that I dont just string a bunch of texts to my friends together to make an essay would be cool. Although maybe I should actually try that. Im a hilarious texter. KM: In We Are Never Meeting IRL, you mention someone having an ass like a library book. Whatexactly does that look like? HARD, FLAT, AND OVERDUE. Sign up for True Story to receive nonfiction news, new releases, and must-read forthcoming titles.

Darla Flynn Play Analysis for The Taming of the Shrew - Free Essay Example
**** I watched the BBC version off of Amazon, I am not sure if this is the one everyone else did but this is what my Play Analysis is going to be based on.*** Context- The Taming of the Shrew is one of Shakespeares most popular works. It was written between 1593 and 1594 and it is one of Shakespeares earliest comedies. In the Elizabethan era, there was a huge demand for new entertainment, and The Taming of the Shrew would have been produced immediately following the completion of the play. Playwright The most influential writer in all of English literature, William Shakespeare was born in 1564 to a successful middle-class glove-maker in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. Shakespeare attended grammar school but had no further formal education. In 1582 he married an older woman, Anne Hathaway, and had three children with her. Around 1590 he left his family behind and traveled to London to work as an actor and playwright. Shakespeare eventually became the most popular playwright in England and part-owner of the Globe Theater. Wealthy and renowned, Shakespeare retired to Stratford and died in 1616 at the age of fifty-two. Plot The plot for the play was to get the older meaner daughter married off so that several of the other suters could vie over who would marry the younger more beautiful daughter Diction From what I could tell the play used a lot of early modern English. Music There was very little music in this version. Katherine The shrew of the plays title, Katherine, or Kate, is the daughter of Baptista Minola, with whom she lives in Padua. Her hostility toward suitors particularly distresses her father. But her anger and rudeness disguise her deep-seated sense of insecurity and her jealousy toward her sister, Bianca. She does not resist her suitor Petruchio forever, though, and she eventually subjugates herself to him, despite her previous repudiation of marriage. Petruchio Petruchio is a gentleman from Verona. He wishes for nothing more than a woman with an enormous dowry, and he finds Kate to be the perfect fit. Disregarding everyone who warns him of her shrewishness, he eventually succeeds not only in wooing Katherine, but in silencing her tongue and temper with his own. Bianca The younger daughter of Baptista. The lovely Bianca proves herself the opposite of her sister, Kate, at the beginning of the play: she is soft-spoken, sweet, and unassuming. Because of her beauty and her mild behavior, several men vying for her hand. Baptista, however, will not let her marry until Kate is wed. Baptista Minola Baptista is one of the wealthiest men in Padua, and his daughters become the prey of many suitors due to the substantial dowries he can offer. At the opening of the play, he is already desperate to find her a suitor, having decided that she must marry before Bianca does. Lucentio A young student from Pisa, the good-natured Lucentio comes to Padua to study at the citys renowned university, but he is immediately sidetracked when he falls in love with Bianca at first sight. By disguising himself as a classics instructor named Cambio, he convinces Gremio to offer him to Baptista as a tutor for Bianca. He wins her love, but his impersonation gets him into trouble when his father, Vincentio, visits Padua. Tranio Lucentios servant. Tranio accompanies Lucentio from Pisa. Wry and comical, he plays an important part in his masters charadeâ⬠he assumes Lucentios identity and bargains with Baptista for Biancas hand. Gremio And Hortensio Two gentlemen of Padua. Gremio and Hortensio are Biancas suitors at the beginning of the play. Though they are rivals, these older men also become friends during their mutual frustration with and rejection by Bianca. Hortensio directs Petruchio to Kate and then dresses up as a music instructor to court Bianca. Grumio Petruchios servant and the fool of the playâ⬠a source of much comic relief. Biondello Lucentios second servant, who assists his master and Tranio in carrying out their plot. The two themes I noticed was how they used marriage as an economic institution, and the effects of social roles on an individuals happiness The Spectacles in the play help me understand where and when the play occurred. I can tell by the clothing who is wealthy and who is poorer. Judging from the clothing I can tell that they are from the English part of the word several hundred years ago.

Research Paper Topics - Magna Carta
Research Paper Topics - Magna CartaOne of the biggest problems of the new constitution of the United States is how to recognize the rights of citizens of this country, but also to be sure that those rights are respected by all. One of the first questions to ask is the reason for the Magna Carta, and also where it was. And this is where another important part of the United States history is also very important. The reason why the Magna Carta was signed is a very important part of its history, and the government knows the importance of this document, and will always try to honor its clauses and rights. The first clause of the Magna Carta of 1215 was a way to insure that the King would not imprison anyone on unjust charges. This was later on passed onto the American people as the Bill of Rights. But what happened to the King? When the common law was taken away from England, many of the laws were then passed to the English people. Those laws were later adopted by many other countries aroun d the world. When people brought the Magna Carta, they brought the past into the present time. The King of England had been educated at an elite University and he later became a baronet. He and his friends were actually the ones who created the notion of the liberties of men. Many of them had studied at Oxford and they actually came up with this idea. They believed that the citizens of the country were free to pursue their own destiny without the interference of the King.Although the Magna Carta is considered as being a work of literature, the fact is that the nation was divided. The civil wars were actually a result of the royal family trying to remove the King and take over the government. After the civil war, many books were burned in order to stop future people from learning about the country's history. While it may seem like a hard time for the new government to recognize the rights of the commoners, the thing that I like most about the Magna Carta is that it showed that the Amer ican democracy was stable and will stand. That is why it is so important for all Americans to remember this document and learn about it and then pass it onto their children. Many people may only know the ideas behind the Magna Carta because of the film 'The Lord of the Rings' but there really is a lot of history behind the Magna Carta. When researching the rights of citizens, there are different research paper topics to study. One of them is the history of the Magna Carta, and what the reasons were for signing the charter. The second one is a discussion about the various clauses of the Magna Carta, and how it has been honored and used throughout history. There are actually many more research paper topics for Americans to read about before they become a part of the government. In addition to being able to learn about the rights of the citizen, the US government will be able to learn the history of their government as well. It is an excellent history lesson, and I recommend it to everyo ne.

Essay Topics on The Scarlet Letter
Essay Topics on The Scarlet LetterThe Scarlet Letter is a popular classic; one of the more recent works by Margaret Mitchell. It has been adapted into several films, and other versions in various stages of maturity and the situation at hand. Here are some excerpts from the essay, which is included with The Scarlet Letter. When a student uses a telephone to make an anonymous call, there are only two ways to get out of it: either he or she can tell the truth and risk jail, or he or she can lie, claiming that someone else made the call. I do not like the lie, and I dislike the risk of jail, but if I try to protect myself by saying the other person made the call, I seem to be protecting the lie. 'I made the call.' 'He was in his study in Cambridge.'The other day I had a conversation with a friend who had just read the classic Scarlet Letter. She found it very hard to understand why anyone would like the novel, but the plot of her friend's story was quite different from mine. She did not r eally care to debate the question, except that she said it made a good point. I am a rationalist, and I am not sure that she was. 'You're either intelligent,' I said, 'or you're not.'I think there is room for everyone, because if you are a thoughtful student and you want to succeed in life, you should think about the things that you believe, even if they conflict with one another. You may have several essays due on the same topic, and you may have several assignments to complete for the semester. Having all the information together will help you answer the questions that you cannot remember to do, and help you organize your thoughts so that you can recall the ideas for the essay. The first thing to remember is that a great teacher will encourage you to think, and if you are a good writer, he or she will motivate you to write. Sometimes students' essays are turned in late, so they are not a problem. They should receive extra credit if their essays were late. The most important idea tha t you should remember when writing an essay on The Scarlet Letter is that it is about the use of deception. There is a person who is in power and makes decisions, and the people who are subject to the power to make decisions by following these instructions. In the US we do not have a king or queen, but we still follow the rules of the game, so we are playing with the same set of rules. We are all deceptive. While writing an essay on The Scarlet Letter, the writing style can vary depending on the author. If the author is not someone who is famous, then the style is informal. If the author is famous, then it is formal. This is not always the case, but it is usually the case. Here are some sample essays on The Scarlet Letter. The topics are the same, and you can modify them to suit your own needs. For example, if you are writing an essay on individual character development, you can find some quotes from the novel that illustrates this. It is all about adapting the material to your own ne eds.

How to Make Use of a Weak Argument in Writing an Argumentative Essay
How to Make Use of a Weak Argument in Writing an Argumentative EssayThe main goal of your argumentative essay is to convince your reader that you're an expert in the subject or that your opinion is correct. If you do not succeed in convincing your reader, it will be very hard for you to take your rightful place as an expert. This is where you need to make use of good argumentative skills and you need to know how to do this.Your thesis is your introduction to your thesis statement, which is your justification of why you should be read as an expert. You need to present a convincing argument that leads your reader to believe that you're an expert in the subject. You may have been making all the wrong arguments by the time you reach your thesis, and you have the raw data you need to re-formulate your argument so that it is more convincing. It's crucial to your entire thesis that you start your argument at the beginning. Your thesis is the start of your argumentation; therefore, starting y our argument at the beginning of your thesis is a crucial step that you need to make. This is the first chapter of your argument. It's very likely that you have strong arguments for and against any subject you are writing about, but in order to convince readers, you need to make use of weak arguments that work for you. Strong arguments may be your strong points. Some people may disagree with your strong points, and they may try to dissuade you from the strong arguments you have made. In order to prevent such things from happening, you need to make use of weak arguments that will work for you.One way to make use of a weak argument is to bring up an example of another person that is a famous expert in a particular subject. For instance, if you're arguing against a business venture that's being held in your neighborhood, you can make a link between your topic and another subject in the world. Then, you can bring up an example of one of these other subjects, and you can convince your rea der that the other subject is just as difficult as your topic.Another weak argument that you can make use of is to present two or more examples of other topics that are similar to yours. For instance, you can present two examples of musicians who were very successful in their careers and you can bring up how you're different from the two musicians. This will show the reader that you're a real expert in this specific field, but if you're able to relate them to your topic, they will also be convinced that you're right. They'll think that you're an expert in your field of expertise.A more difficult and stronger argument that you can make use of is to bring up a quote from someone that you admire. Although you can make use of quotes from other individuals and even from famous authors, this is the best type of quote because it shows that you have a knowledge of the subject in question. You can use quotes from famous authors that are widely-known and trustworthy and you can bring up a quo te that shows that you're an expert in this specific topic. When you're reading this article, you have probably already realized that it is extremely difficult to make use of a weak argument when you're writing an argumentative essay. However, if you make use of weak arguments, you will be able to make a persuasive argument that you can present to your reader. This is one of the most important skills in writing an argumentative essay.
The Development of Literary Concept From Thomas Hardys The Mayor of Castleton Ap Literature
The Development of Literary Concept From Thomas Hardy's The Mayor of Castleton Ap LiteratureIn this excerpt from Thomas Hardy's The Mayor of Castleton Ap, literary critic Jack Roberts explores the changes Hardy saw between his early work and his later books. Roberts discusses such topics as the changes of tone and general development of the author's literary career, what has influenced the development of literary concepts within this author's works, and other themes and issues regarding the writer's career.Michael Foster's development of his career started at the University of Manchester in the mid-1990s. This can be traced back to the time he attended, where he encountered with the radical literature of such notable authors as Ian McEwan, Joanna Trollope, Derek Walcott, Hilary Mantel, and Margaret Drabble. With these influences come the freedom that he and his contemporaries gained in terms of the writing style.Hardy is a case in point. He continued to write throughout his writing c areer, which started when he wrote his first novel, 'Jackal Man', as well as writing several others, despite his age. He made many contributions to the world of literature, which he himself recognized. It is therefore an obvious progression to take a look at how Hardy's earlier works relate to his later works. When reading the excerpts below, one should be able to identify a shift in the overall tone of his literary work. These changes can be mainly attributed to his youth and his rise in popularity in his early twenties. Here are a few examples:'Before the Siege' presents a story in which the words have the tendency to be direct and to the point, while the tone is described as being reverent and scholarly. This excerpt was one of the first pieces written by Hardy. As his career progressed, the general direction and tone of the piece changed.'Paradise' was one of the earliest pieces written by Hardy, which focuses on the struggles of a person's desire for love. The tone of the piece has the tendency to reflect the intensity of the reader's desire for love. The piece is however one of the most memorable pieces written by Hardy.'I, Monster', written about six years after 'Paradise', remains an example of the more dramatic work written by Hardy. The emphasis of the piece is placed on the combination of a formidable character with a harsh and unfeeling line of criticism. This is perhaps one of the best examples of the influence of 'moralistic' style in the development of the writer's art.'Fog' is another piece written by Hardy, which narrate the adventures of a merchant, as well as his struggle with a creature that resembles a monster in appearance. It is a great example of how changes in the tone of a particular piece can be traced back to the early days of the author's career. The overall tone can be influenced by a great deal of factors, but this piece is one of the prime examples of this phenomenon.

The Witches in MacBeth Essay - 858 Words
The Witches in MacBeth Shakespeare utilized many sources of information when writing his plays. One of his sources for the witches in MacBeth was almost certainly Reginald Scots The Discoverie of Witchcraft, published in 1584. In his book, Scot refuted many of the common notions regarding witches and their powers; nevertheless, the book created a basic outline for the typical witch, including physical descriptions and abilities. The witches in MacBeth are representations of those described in Scots book. In the play, Shakespeare describes authentic witches in their physical appearance and behavior and MacBeths character is made more villainous through his association with these terrifying figures.â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦For example, they have familiars, or spirits given to them by the devil for the purpose of giving advice and performing evil deeds. The single mention of the familiars in the beginning indicates an attempt to authenticate the characters as witches. It becomes apparent that the witches are also responsible for committing evil deeds. Scot enumerates the capabilities of witches at the time: they ...raise haile, tempests, and hurtfull weather; as lightning and thunder...They can passe from place to place in the aire invisible (Scot 6). The first witch describes her plans to raise a storm and sink the ship belonging to the husband of a woman who would not share chestnuts with her. Her sisters offer to give her winds to aid her in her task. Then, the first witch admits the mans ship shall be tempest tossed (1.3.26). The witches also display the ability to become invisible. Technology and Accreditation in Nursing Essay - 953 Words
On February 17, 2009, President Barack Obama signs into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). The law promotes electronic medical records (EMR) and infrastructure development, such as reimbursement-based pay, to cut health care costs (Frequently Asked Questions, 2009). Likewise, the ARRA is restructuring Medicare disbursements to reimburse for quality not quantity. While the law does not mandate EMR use, the federal government has set aside twenty billion dollars to help in the development of a strong health information technology infrastructure. If something happens where health care providers cannot access a clientââ¬â¢s EMR, they could be in a harmful, life or death situation. A software program glitch or a malfunctioning computer can also limit clinicians from providing informed care (EyeCandyHealthInformatics, 2008). One compliant the general public has is privacy. They fear employers might have access their EMR to gain medical information, and then deny employment or job advancement. In addition, individuals are cautious because they might be denied insurance due to medical records (Torrey, 2009). Another disadvantage is that some clients and health care professionals are technologically challenged and choose not to use EMR; nevertheless, electronic communication is becoming a necessary tool in the medical field (Balzer-Riley, 2008, p. 75).
