Journalism has been around for hundreds of years; through the evolution of time, news media has seamlessly evolved with it, until now. The digital age has made its way and the distinction of what utilise to be the most viable source of information (the newspaper) is inevitable. In point, it is already happening. So, where does that leave us, newspapers and the media? It is my opinion that, the news corporations, that due survive, leave behind do so but by means of cosmos completely digital; but they are going to entertain to step it up to compete with the likes of Wikileak.com, for instance. The biggest issue news corporations hardiness today is, obviously, revenue. In the past few years, there has been a decrease in advertising of almost 50%; this at one time was the papers largest revenue source, not scarcely the subscribers. Speaking of subscribers, the latest report I could find tell that the New York Times has between 20-30 million readers; but only ONE million are actual subscribers that still learn hard copy print. This, combined with the substantial loss in revenues, has literally killed off hundreds of newspapers and with it, hundreds of jobs. There are other factors as well, but this seems to be the largest reason for distinction. Newspapers and professional journalist beneficial can't compete with the influx of the internet and the information that is pronto available; for free. Anyone and everyone seems to be a journalist nowadays.



If there is a story to be told, chances are you can find hundreds of blogs, videos, websites and so forth regarding your search for information. The problem lies in the validity of the idiosyncratic posting or putting the opinion or fact out for anyone to access. The biggest problem I see; there isn't a process anymore of a story being an collecting of the combined efforts of professionals nor does it need a stamp of approval from the pointedness editor.
