For my interview I decided to interview my Uncle John. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam war. I decided to interview him because I thought it was arouse how antithetically my life would be if the same things happened to me. Right step to the fore of high school, he was drafted at 18 years senior to serve his county. He was from Marine Park, Brooklyn and was the further one of his siblings to be drafted. I thought this interview would be interesting to from an anthropology base because he was taken from home and put into an odd environment much a give care an anthropologist doing a study on a person or tribe from around the world. First, I would like to give you a little introduction about the war. Although the fight started to heat up in the late 60s into the early 70s, the competitiveness between north Korea and south Korea was from November 1, 1955 to April 30, 1975. The war took place because of the worlds extremely powers struggle for maintaining its governmental ideals around the world. North Korea was supported by communist allies while South Korea was supported by the  United states and other democratic allies.
This war was one of the only ones in the United states military history that was considered a release for America. It had been the highest death toll since WWII. 58,220 United states service men were killed in the conflict. The results of the war were grim. The North Vietnamese were victorious, American troops were withdrawn, and socialism took over control of South Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.
Second I would like to give you a little background about my uncle. He was born April 17, 1949. He grew up in Marine Park, Brooklyn. He went to Madison High School where he graduated, and soon after, in the summer of 1967, he was drafted and sent to Paris Island where he proficient to fight the war.
