This course deals with confused aspects of the history of kind-hearted existence. The overwhelming breadth of the history of our species necessitates a focus on sticking skills to understand our past. Therefore, the major goal of the course is to develop your analytical and critical thinking skills, including your ability to understand yourself in time and space and your capacity to think about the slipway that you think. To support these skills we impart work to develop your writing and oral presentation abilities. Participation is central to the course and you receive credit for inquire questions. If you do not understand any part of a class or a reading, please ask in class. You must be prepared to talk about any reading at the beginning of the week when it is assigned. You may overly be assigned to lead class discussions at various times.
This semester we will survey the history of the world since about 1763.
The radical thread that runs throughout this semester is the continuing rise of the West, leading to its command of most of the world and the creation of a world economical system. Every society and culture in the world was alter and we will examine these trends including the profound resistance from the broadest overview to the experiences of ordinary people. We will come up to the present and investigate the reactions to the West, the self-destruction of atomic number 63 from 1914 to 1945 and the development of our post-war world.
