The aim of this project was to produce a performance piece lasting approximately 10 legal proceeding long using no input generated gravid as our instrument. By creating a looped circuit in an amplifier a feedback signal is generated to an extent that it becomes audible and often generates idiosyncrasies unique to its circuitry. The project was different from anything I excite done before on the stern that I princip on the wholey use conventional musical instruments, although I tried to be point-blank minded at the very beginning I had my moments of incertitude at the thought of listening to a simple electronic feedback sound for 10 minutes but I was alike intrigued by the potential this previously over looked instrument I had sat under my nose for the past 8 years. It was my hurry GFX-707 guitar effects pedal that I chose to use for this project.
First of all I had only chosen the FX pedal on the basis that it was my most accessible option, the other being a 16 channel mixing desk I would need to retrieve from miles aside and would ultimately be unpractical to travel to rehearsals and performances with.
After rehearsing for the first clock with my two other group members Dale and Joe with my FX pedal I realise that its smoother high pitched sound was a accept variance to the sounds generated by their socials. With their sociables being more granulated sounds; Joes Numark mixer dominated the lower and middle frequencies in particular and Dales Eurorack UBB 1002 mixer having a fuller spectrum that allowed different relationships to form between the three.
Although the piddle stated that using excessive effects should be avoided, I found that the sound generated by my FX pedal sounded richer with the reverb switched on. There wasnt a great deal of change in the characterisation of the sound produced, though as a group we decided that it was more aesthetically pleasing.
