For decades women have graced the pages of print media such as Cosmopolitan, Glamour, and Vogue. Each of these magazines began cater to women with an interest in men, sex, and ad hominem success. Through the years, womens magazines in the unite States and Europe have become less interested with issues of personal growth and more interested in fashion publicizing. This media wind has shaped a negative and unrealistic image of women, therefore creating a devastating effect on the cultural standards of an example female.
The average woman sees between 400 and 600 advertisements per day, most of which accentuate thinness as a standard for female beauty. It can be devastating to teen women to realize they will probably never achieve the deceiving images of glamor and beauty which are so glorified in the media. kinda than chasing a buck, the media would be doing a great service by honoring the efforts of ordinary women who work hard and achieve their goals. A bibliography would have been proficient.
I enjoyed reading this essay. You seem to have illustrated your points well and do good use of the sources. I do agree that a bibliography would have been nice. If I was being extremely pedantic, It would have been nice to see reference made to efforts to counteract this established practice. The reference and picture of Jamie lee curtis springs to mind in this respect.
