As I interviewed, Ms. Childs a counseling from the Cypress-Fairbanks school district, I truly understood the difference amidst the role of a counselling and their duties. She has wanted to be a counselor since the third grade. She had an excellent wide-eyed school counselor and always remembered her as being the nicest person on campus. later that expereince she aspired to do the same. She has been a school counselor now for 4 years, all in the set school tantrum.
Ms. Childs explained that her district point more on developmental guidance for all levels. She believes her districts philosophy of school counseling is that all students are unique individuals with some talents, and through social and academic guidance they can produce productive, responsible citizens.
The counseling program in her district is clear defined, understood, and accepted by the students, teachers, administrators, parents, and the board of education. There is a create verbally K-12 counsellor and Counseling Program available called the Developmental Guidance Program.
The district sets the expectations and each individual school tailors it to fit the inevitably of their students. There is not a counselor serving any school and all grade levels in the elementary setting , however, at that place is a counselor for both grade level in the middle and high schools in her district. At the elementary level there is one counselor per campus, at the middle school level there is one counselor for every 500 students, and at the high school level there are two counselors per grade level.
